eClinicalWorks Named a Leader in Health Information Exchange Report

eEHX eClinicalWorks

In a recent report by IDC Health Insights, and after careful evaluation for its eClinicalWorks Health Information eXchange (eEHX) solution, eClinicalWorks® placed in the Leader Category. This report, titled IDC MarketScape: U.S. Health Information Exchange Packaged Solution 2015 Vendor Assessment (Document #HI256010, July 2015), focuses on the health information exchange (HIE) vendor landscape.

“With a growing emphasis of value-based outcomes, new value propositions are emerging in the HIE market,” stated Lynne Dunbrack, research vice president at IDC Health Insights, and author of the report. “In addition to connecting various entities within healthcare organizations, population health and analytics capabilities are required for many successful HIE initiatives. Vendors which have this functionality, along with demonstrating speed to value, are well-suited to meet market needs. Healthcare organizations looking for strong population health should consider eClinicalWorks for its comprehensive portfolio of HIE, population health management, and patient engagement solutions.”

As outlined in the report, the expansion of accountable care and patient-centered medical homes has given the ability to aggregate and centralize health information for population health management and analytics a growing level of importance in HIE initiatives. This has led to a major shift towards providing a broader solution where health information exchange is an enabling technology for population health management and analytics rather than solely connecting the healthcare ecosystem. This report identifies seven vendors in the HIE market that were selected for their market share and/or potential growth opportunities, and examined based on their current capabilities and future strategy.

“Providing actionable data to healthcare organizations has long been a focus for eClinicalWorks,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “Interoperability, population health management and analytics are major factors in delivering real-time, comprehensive information that can positively impact patient care. eClinicalWorks now has more than 150 communities, representing thousands of practices, live with in-patient and out-patient settings and showing improved continuity of care. We are pleased to have our work in the HIE market recognized by IDC Health Insights.”
